- Avoid high grip: to prevent damage, do not bend your fishing rod. Keep the rod at an angle between 45° and 60° to avoid breaking it.
- Aim for snags: if the bait gets stuck, direct the rod towards the obstacle and back away. This reduces tension and prevents damage to the rod.
- Handle carbon fiber rods carefully: while strong, these rods can be fragile. Avoid dropping them or hitting them against hard surfaces to prevent damage to the equipment.
- Transport safely: disassemble the rod and store it in a protective case to prevent damage caused by impacts or external factors during transportation.
- Handle graphite rods carefully: these rods conduct electricity. Avoid using them during storms or near power lines to ensure your safety.
- Release stuck bait or sinkers safely: never pull bait, or sinkers stuck in trees or bushes using the rod and fishing line. This can fling the material in your direction. Only release them with your hands.

The essential Saltiga evolves and brings together the latest Daiwa technologies for big game fishing.
In order to meet the needs of all anglers, a new size system is applied to the Saltiga 2020, as well as two types of cranks proposed.
Improved service life
The body of the Saltiga 2020 benefits from Daiwa's latest innovations: its Monocoque Body structure in a single symmetrical machined piece provides the reel with greater watertightness.
Built entirely in aluminum, the solidity of the body is increased.
The crown wheel encapsulated in the body is wider (46mm) and thicker (8.7mm) than in the previous version of the Saltiga (2015), being lighter thanks to its composition in G1 duralumin.
To limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 overlapping layers: anodizing, anti-static paint, primer, paint and varnish.
The aluminum Air Rotor is stiffer than the ZAION carbon and more powerful, so the pick-up arm is stronger.
On either side of the crown wheel, two MagSealed bearings ensure fluidity and watertightness for the Saltiga.
We found Mag Oil at the pinion level and on the pick-up roller.
For strong fishing with total serenity
The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) drag system is now made up of 14 elements compared to the 6 on the Saltiga 2015, making the Saltiga 2020 ten times more powerful and resistant than its predecessor.
The drag button has also been redesigned: it gains in ergonomics thanks to its 42% increase. Like the button cap and the drag collar (two internal components), the drag button is made of aluminum.
This allows heat transfer and dissipation, which ensures the fluidity and efficiency of the Saltiga.
To fine-tune the drag, the ratchet sound has been intensified. Ideal for tackling gamefish, the round or oval-shaped aluminium handle offers a powerful and comfortable grip.
Always with the aim of maximizing fishing pleasure, the Saltiga 2020 is equipped with an LC-ABS (Long Cast) reel that ensures a fluid line outlet as well as a reduction in the risk of snags.
Another practical detail of the Saltiga 2020 is located in the pick-up, whose opening and closing are controlled by a click that prevents the reel from rotating during full launch.
A new size scale
For the sake of consistency with the small spinning reels, the Saltiga 2020 range adopts a new size scale: 8000 (corresponding to size 4500 of the Saltiga 2015).
With this new range, Saltiga takes the limits of performance even further, thanks to the high technologies it is equipped with.
All that’s left for the fishermen to do is take it in their hands and beat their records.
