Megatwin-Daiwa’s original Seaborg Megatwin spinning reel design utilizes a two-gear ratio system. The new Seaborg employs a completely redesigned system that allows the user to instantly switch between mega-power mode and mega-speed mode with the touch of a button. During retrieving or when fighting a monster, the new speed function changes smoothly and effortlessly. With this functionality, an angler can switch to the best speed depending on the situation.

ATD (Automatic Drag System) - ATD drag system that gives you the power and poise to take control of anything that crosses your fishing path. ATD is a combination of seven large carbon washers and improved drag grease. The new grease exhibits a low viscosity at rest, but becomes more viscous immediately after the drag is started. This reduces the initial drag inertia. When combined with the structural changes in the ATD Drag washers, it results in a smoother drag from the initial hook-up, allowing you to focus on the fight. This tough drag function will adjust according to the pull of the fish. To maintain smooth drag under extreme pressure, an aluminum drag radiator is located on the handle shaft that dissipates heat from the drag system, maximizing heat release, keeping the drag cooler for better drag performance. This latter function will maintain the staying power to help land big fish. Additionally, an audible alarm function will notify anglers when the line is being pulled out.

Jog Power Lever - The new Seaborg Jog Power Lever system is designed for stand-up fishing techniques. With the concept of stand-up fighting in mind, the Jog Lever will allow for an immediate response to line spooling. When standing with the rod/reel outfit in the right hand, the lever can be controlled with the left thumb. Alternatively, when using your left hand to hold the outfit, pinching the lever with the right hand will allow you to control the machine with ease. This easy-to-use function allows you to continuously lead the fight to your target.

Spherical Ball Bearing - Daiwa's cutting-edge technology - Magsealed Ball Bearing prevents water and dust from entering the inside of the ball bearing, which greatly reduces corrosion and reel noise. Applied to the spool shaft around, a place where salt and dust invasion is most likely and maintenance is difficult. This will improve long-term durability and smoothness.

Dot Screen Display - Out in the field it can be difficult to read anything on an LCD screen due to glare from the sun or sunglasses. Seaborg's LCD screen displays large letters/numbers and uses a dotted LCD screen to make it easier for anglers to see the screen.
